EE AY ADDIO, WE WON THE CUP

 Abril no fue el mes más cruel para Os Porcos Bravos. Impelidos por la acuciante necesidad de un primer triunfo en territorio enemigo, el octeto galego desplazado a Inglaterra, superó todas las adversidades hasta alcanzar una indiscutible victoria cuyos ecos resonarán por toda la eternidad. O al menos, durante los dos próximos meses.
El día 5 de Abril de 2009 ya tiene un merecido hueco en el Panteón de las fechas inmortales para el futbol gallego.

    Regresamos a jugar la última a pasitos falsamente indolentes. No cometeremos la chulería de arrodillarnos, pero esa bola la jugaremos lenta, contenida, casi ceremoniosa. Durante unos segundos, contemplamos cómo elige su camino. Durante el final de su carrera, nos acercamos con un pequeño gesto negativo en el que se revela cierta falsa modestia. No ha entrado, pero está en el juego y no hemos fallado.
    Al empezar la partida, recogíamos algunas veces las bolas de los demás. Pero ahora estamos metidos en el juego. Sólo recogemos las nuestras.

  In the current climate of Tory Narnia, wherein the grey-skull right-wing witch of Universal Callousness defends dogmatic cruelty by chillingly spouting bogus figures, like a terrifying echo from World history, inevitably our minds need some memory to jemmy us out of our slough of despond. This year I was fortunate enough to be invited to witness this brilliant event, and it just so happened that it was the tenth anniversary of the event, so emotions were running high.
